Above that floor, we do not pretend to know your final price until we have seen the room. A small guest bath with a straight tub-to-shower swap and a full walk-in tile build in a primary suite are very different projects, and they should carry very different prices.
What actually moves the price
A bathroom estimate is really the sum of a handful of decisions. When you understand these, the range you see online starts to make sense, and you can see where your own project is likely to land.
- The size of the space. A powder room and a full bath are different square footage, and everything that gets tiled, painted, or replaced scales with the room.
- The materials and finishes you choose. Tile, natural stone, cabinetry, a vanity top, fixtures, and glass all range widely. You pick the level that fits your budget, and that choice often moves the number more than anything else.
- Layout changes. Keeping everything where it is costs less than moving a shower, opening up a wall, or converting a tub into a walk-in. The more the footprint changes, the more work behind it.
- Plumbing and electrical behind the walls. If the plan moves water lines or adds circuits and lighting, that work gets walked through and priced up front. It is the part people forget, and it is why an on-paper price and a real one can differ.
- The age and condition of the home. Older Coastal Bend homes sometimes hide water damage, dated wiring, or framing that needs attention once a wall is opened. We would rather find that with you at the estimate than surprise you later.
Why we quote it standing in the room
An honest number needs eyes on the space. We come to you, and the estimate takes about an hour. We look at the room, talk through what you want, and note the things that a phone call would never catch. Then you get a straight scope of work and a firm price in writing before anyone picks up a tool.
